The Greensboro Guitar Summer Workshop
The Greensboro Guitar Summer Workshop is one of the southeast's largest and most
successful summer guitar camps. It has taken place in downtown Greensboro, NC at
the Greensboro Cultural Center each summer for over a decade. Numerous guitarists
of various styles ranging in age from 12-18 years old attend this intensive one-week
workshop every year. This workshop is open to beginners to advanced players. The
faculty each year consists of highly accomplished guitarists and instructors who love
to teach and play guitar. With great attendance and a very high return rate of students,
this one-week workshop is the talk of young guitarists thoughout the year.

Each student will have the chance to choose the four daily classes he or she
would like to take. These classes through the years have focused on various
guitar syles including: rock, classical, jazz, flamenco, acoustic/fingerstyle, and
many more. And that's not all...there have been classes that have focused on
guitar technology, guitar repair, starting a band, music business...there have
been technique classes such as Guitar Bootcamp and classes that focus on
music theory. Then there are the ensembles...three different ensembles to
choose from each year. There are classes for all levels and guitar styles...you
are sure to find something that fits you. Oh, and don't forget the yearly pizza
bash and free daily giveaways consisting of guitar strings all the way to free
guitars. Every student winds something!
Along with the daily prizes there are also daily concerts featuring the instructors,
guest artists, a student showcase, and the ensemble concert open to the public and
parents, which in the past years has been attended by over 200 guests. Between
classes there are extended breaks to allow the students to play gutiar, talk to each
other, play guitar together, talk to instructors and extend their learning to even
outside the scheduled classes. All attendees are supervised all day, safety and a
friendly atmosphere is always a top priority. The workshop takes place at the
beautiful Greensboro Cultural Center, the focus point for arts in the city. The
workshop has always been and always will be affrodable priced, and will be a
fun learning environment for everyone. To learn more about the classes and/or
